Technical Support Position

Dear Hiring Manager,

After being laid off from the Advertising Department at CompUSA, I had a lot of time to consider my career options. I decided that it was time to change careers and do something that I have always enjoyed, working on computers and computer networks. To that end I have taken and completed 12 computer and networking technology classes at the New Horizons Computer Learning Center with the goal of becoming a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer with a focus on Security. I am currently studying to take my next certification exam. I have recently become a Microsoft Certified Professional (Microsoft Windows XP Professional) and I am also CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA A+ certified.
I have been a computer enthusiast since the late eighties when I got my first computer, an IBM 286. Since then I have on several occasions configured and built my own computers.
This is not just a crazy half-baked decision in that I do have a few years of hardware and network support experience from my early years at CompUSA. When I worked in the Sales Operations Department in the mid-nineties, I was responsible for configuring, building, troubleshooting and installing computer systems on our network. I was able to do this without any formal computer training. I just kind of figured it out as I went along.
I am looking for a full-time Technical Support position where I can continue to learn and expand my skill set.
