Systems Software Engineer / Analyst / Trainer

Dear “Company Name”

I found your company website and was impressed what your company is about and their mission. However, I want to show you how my skills and experience not only make me different from the rest but also give you more value for your employment dollar. My resume does not speak of all your requirements but with my past experience and my ability to learn quickly, I think I would be a great asset to your team.
Experience • Active Secret security clearance • BSCS (Computer Science) / Mathematics degree with over 20 years of software engineering experience with a lot of the experience in embedded programming • In-depth knowledge of many programming languages (i.e. C++, Ada …), many operating systems (i.e. Linux, Unix, Windows, …), design techniques like embedded software design and development, object-oriented design knowledge, and programming tools such as Eclipse, CVS, DOORS, etc. • Much of my career was in a team environment • Written system & software documents outlining customer requirements as well as GUI “how-to-use” documentation • Demonstrated and fielded questions/comments for customer on the use of their newly developed system • Worked on Commercial products as well as Government products Full Life-Cycle Development • Wrote and supported new systems/software/processes for all life-cycle development phases • Involved with many projects (see resume) with a zero percent non-completion rate
I also realize that ‘who I am’ is equally important to you as ‘what I can do.’ While it is easy to rattle off facts and figures as above, it is harder for me to show you that I am a reliable person, a team player, results oriented, well organized, have good communication skills, and disciplined too. So let me say this, a lot of the successful skills and the people that I worked with and worked for have made experiences I bring to you possible. So for me, the people I work with are equally as important as our customers and the work I do. I would love the opportunity to meet you in an interview to put a personality to this application and see how and where, my skills, experience…and I…might ‘fit’ in your organization.
Yours sincerely, Mark Blodgett
grafton, ma
