CIO / Director / Manager of Information Technology

Dear sirs:

Having recently retired from a healthcare organization where I had worked for 35 years, the majority of which were served in an Information Technology (I.T.) management role, I am looking forward to continuing my career in the more limited but more focused role of interim management.
During my tenure as Director of Information Systems and Telecommunications, I have been responsible for the standard tasks of long range planning, vendor selection, contracting, budgeting, project management, staffing, and leadership that are inherent to the position. In addition to these typical responsibilities, I have also been responsible for all I.T. related activities associated with a merger of two hospitals and a hospital acquisition, as well as several major construction and renovation projects. I have also had the opportunity to mentor several individuals who subsequently moved on to senior I.T. management (VP/CIO/Director) roles in other organizations. I have been commended for my work in all of these roles – by my employer, by vendor partners, and by consultants – and I believe the additional experiences noted above have enabled me to develop a variety of skills that many others lack.
Considering my extensive knowledge and experience, along with my ability to identify, acquire, and develop a strong support staff, I believe I have a skill set that is both broad and deep and which would be of value to many organizations. If you have or receive a request to provide interim I. T. management support, I would appreciate the opportunity to be considered.
Sincerely, Robert B. Ayres
