Human Resources Generalist

I am a dedicated, pro-active professional with over 18 years of progressive, hands-on, human resources generalist/managerial experience in manufacturing, corporate travel, telecom, and multi-location responsibility. I have worked with staff from hourly unskilled labor up through senior level executives. I’ve worked for companies with staff levels of 100 to 2500, from service industries to manufacturing industries, from corporate locations to plant locations and single sites to multi-locations throughout the USA. I feel my background and experiences enable me to quickly and easily adapt and learn the differences of any environment, when given the opportunity.

I have the knowledge & experience to know the importance of training vs. organizational development. I have worked on implementing many developmental plans for cultivating careers using new and current training techniques. I’ve implemented and presented many training classes myself, including but not limited to harassment classes, leadership skills, time & stress management classes, diversity training and most recently, compliance training (under Sarbanes Oxley). I am a certified DDI facilitator/trainer and have conducted many DDI classes to date.

I am used to and enjoy a very fast-paced, continuously changing environment. With the vast changes (especially while in the travel industry) since September 11, 2001, I’ve had no choice but to become a motivational change agent. I have supervised anywhere from 2-15 employees within the HR department, including departments such as: benefits, compensation, payroll, training, administration, facilities and safety. I am very familiar with several HRIS systems including Humanics, ADP’s HR Profile System, and PeopleSoft.

I am extremely familiar with most, if not all, US employment laws, including, but not limited to: EEOC, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADEA, AAP, FLSA and unemployment. I have been through several OSHA safety inspections and I have processed workers compensation claims for 15 years. I have also worked with the Teamsters Union and the UAW and I am familiar with most/all union matters, including strong union-avoidance issues.

I have also been responsible for all compensation, including payroll and benefits, and am familiar with ADP, Ceridian, Payroll One, Paychex and other payroll companies. I have had to investigate industry benchmarking and implement basic compensation plans for unskilled hourly associates up to Executive level compensation plans. I have changed and improved many Third Party Administrators and renewed many benefit packages at renewal time, involving large cost savings for the company. I have done this with companies that have been 100% self-insured and partially self-insured, with all benefit plans from medical, dental, optical, STD, LTD, 401(k), Pension Plans, Cafeteria Plans, and even workers compensation.

I have recruited employees for unskilled hourly positions to upper level Executive VP’s and C-level roles. I have used many means to recruit from college placement centers to internal and external job fairs to the Internet to professional recruiting firms. I have had to relocate not only local candidates but international candidates and Expatriates as well.

If you are seeking a talented individual who stays abreast of her field, who understands technology, who earns 100% staff support, and who is as career-committed as it takes to achieve total success, then please consider what I have to offer. I would be happy to have a preliminary discussion with you or members of your team to see if we can establish a mutual interest.

I am looking for a salary that matches my knowledge, education and experience. My most recent base salary of $130K with 25% annual bonus plus stock options is something I’d like to maintain if not increase. Thank you for your attention to these materials. I certainly look forward to exploring this further.
