Senior Scientist

I am writing to apply a senior scientist position in biotechnology-related industry. I got my Bachelor and Master degree in Medicine, obtained my PhD in Chemistry, and continued extensive postdoctoral training in molecular biology, cell biology and pharmacology. Currently, I am an instructor majored in diabetic complications and mechanism of tumor development. As you can see from my CV, I have got more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 18 of them as either first or equal first author. With more than 10 years of research work, I have good knowledge and rich experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry and pharmacology. I have read your job description, and found that your requirement fits my background very well. Here, I want to emphasize some of my expertise and experience in your interested field:
1. I have long experience and track record in drug discovery. I have successfully identified and isolated a native component -betulinic acid residue from Pulsatilla Chinensis. This betulinic acid residue has been used for clearance of hepatitis B virus for both in vivo and in vitro with great success. Also, I have recently identified a totally new gene that responses for the tumor growth and metastasis, further study shows that the best target for anti-cancer drug development based on this gene is the last 7 amino acid at c-terminal. I have established a high throughput screening system based on this target to find the potential candidates from thousands of chemicals. 2. I am very good in protein engineering, including vector construction, protein expression in bacterial, yeast and some insect cells, protein purification through GST purification kit, thrombin digestion kit and affinity chromatography. I also have experience for antibody development, including specific protein target design, peptide synthesis, rabbit immunization, serum collection and antibody purification. Also, I have rich experience in protein or biomedical analysis, including ELISA, Luminex, MSD, western blotting, immunoprecipitation and enzyme kinetic analysis using GraphPad Prisms. 3. I have deep understanding and hands-on experience in cell biology and in vitro pharmacology, including: cell proliferation, growth, cytotoxicity, apoptosis, reporter based assays, mammalian cell culture, transfection, infection, generation of stable cells, lentivirus/adenovirus preparation. I am good in immunochemistry, cofocal imaging, fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometery (FACS) and electron microscopy. 4. I am an expert in molecular biology, including molecular cloning, plasmids construction, single/double mutagenesis, PCR, RT-PCR, real time PCR, DNA and RNA manipulation, southern blotting and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP). 5. I have long experience to work with animals, including mouse, rat and rabbit. I am good in animal surgery, including ovariohisterectomy, stereotaxic surgery and jugular vein catheterization. 6. I have obtained extensive training in analytical chemistry with strong track record for analysis of biomedical materials. 7. I am good in paper writing, proposal designs, and good in statistical software SPSS 18.0 to analyze the data. In addition, I am a hard-working and well-organized person with cooperative spirit and excellent verbal and written communication skills. I wish the above information could help you to know me better. I appreciate your patience to read my application files, if you need more details, please feel free to ask.
Thank you very much for your kind considerations, I am awaiting your early reply. With best regards
Sincerely Yours
