Attention of Human Resources

To the attention of the Human Resources Department: I moved back to Colorado at the behest of a long time friend and business associate to assume GM duties as a managing partner in a restaurant he was attempting to purchase. Unfortunately the restaurant has since been purchased by another business group and the opportunity has dissolved. In the interim, I have been employed by my friend as Director of Business and Fleet Sales for his automotive repair business. While I am grateful for the employment, it is not the industry where my interests and passions exist. I truly desire to return to the Food service and/or Hospitality Industries. I have remained involved in these industries as I volunteer my services to the Denver Rescue Mission and direct their kitchen in the preparation and serving of 250-400 meals on two Sundays each month. In addition, I have utilized my extensive wine knowledge, coupled with my sales and marketing skills, to conduct in-home wine tasting/food pairings, and it has proven both profitable and rewarding. Some other skills and experience that might not be readily visible from my resume are as follows: 1. A minor in Accounting and Finance from MSU with extensive bookkeeping experience and office mgt skills. 2. Serv-Safe accredited and a corporate instructor of the program. 3. A certified Mixologist with 25 yrs. fine wine experience including expertise in sales and marketing, staff education, and wine dinners including cognac, bourbon, single-malt scotches, and cigar pairings. 4. Multi-unit Mgt. experience for Unique Restaurant Corp., the largest privately owned restaurant/catering corp. in the Mid-West. 5. Extensive Resort and Country Club experience including 8 yrs. in Vail, Co. at both 5-star Hotel and Restaurant operations. 6. 15 years experience in the area of banquet and catering including, but not limited to marketing, sales, event planning, and mgt/execution of both on and off-premise events. 7. Designated corporate trainer of both employees and entry to mid-level mgrs. in food service, beverage, and mgt. philosophy and customer service.
