My career as a financial professional, in the roles of Controller, European Controller, or CFO, spans a variety of high tech industries from ‘start ups’ to multi billion dollar conglomerates in 35 countries in such diverse industries as business consulting services, Global Positioning Software and hardware, robotic software, business application software, managed services software, computer software, internet financial services, semi-conductors, measurement & control systems, computer and peripheral hardware, robotics—mass storage devices, and internet hardware and software. Most recently, I provided CFO Consulting services to three small start-up companies in Global Position Software, Internet Financial Services, and semi-conductor wafer fab services (water, gas, and wastes). Presently, I am the CFO of an Internet Integrator, Professional Services provider, and Managed Services Software Developer.
I have lead an IPO for a San Raphael, CA based software company where I co-authored the S-1 and created the materials and presented the company and European portion of the IPO presentation in London, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Milan, and Paris. Thereafter, I took on the role of investor relations manager for all of the European investors. This effort was a standard American IPO and included all aspects including interfacing with the investment bankers, the auditing firm, and the SEC. The IPO was oversubscribed and the results enable the company to continue its expansion plans.
In all of my previous positions, in addition to being responsible for all phases of the companies finances, I have been very ‘hands on’ and have lead the financial planning (3-5 Year Business Plans and Budgets), modeling, the budget process, auditor relations and management, board presentations, bank relations, building finance departments, corporate credit ,cost accounting, the subsidiary and company expansion plans, foreign currency management, ERP software installation, global reporting, human resources (401K and medical benefits), IT, investment analysis, insurance, IT systems selection and installation of 8 different systems, international accounting, international consolidations, project management, leasing, revenue recognition (VSOE), risk management, Sarbanes-Oxley (404), stock option management, tax, treasury, business insurance, personnel, IT, external reporting (SEC –10Q and 10K & FASB), and U.S. and foreign GAAP. I have also had merger and acquisitions experience (from both sides) and enjoy the challenges inherent in merging companies, company cultures, and IT systems. I also have significant consolidation experience as I have managed the world-wide financial consolidation from 7 to over 40 company subsidiaries and 8 Group consolidations. And I have managed between 5 and 120 employees in different time zones.
